Anne Burrell

Anne W. Burrell is a American TV chef and an instructor from the Institute of Culinary Education. She hosts the Food Network's Secrets of a Restaurant Chef as well as co-hosting Worst Cooks in America. Anne Burrell, a Food Network celebrity with her signature spikey blonde hair and exuberant personality, shares easy to learn techniques and eliminates anxiety about restaurant food in her series Secrets of a Restaurant. Chef Burrell also has worked in some of New York's top restaurants, has studied Italian cuisine and its traditions, and competed on Food Network's Iron Chef America. While growing up in the Upstate New York area, Chef Burrell developed a passion for food and cooking at a young age. After obtaining an English and Communication diploma in Canisius College in Buffalo NY she was able to pursue her love of the business of restaurant by enroling at The Culinary Institute of America. The Culinary Institute of America was where I had my most memorable time in my life. I just couldn't get enough pleasure from it. When I graduated from the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners, Chef Burrell was able to spend a whole year in Italy studying and working at La Taverna del Lupo restaurant located in Umbria as well La Bottega del 30 one Michelin star in Tuscany. In Italy she gained a profound appreciation and understanding of Italian culinary and cultural traditions. This is a huge influence on the way that Burrell cooks. Burrell is a celebrity ambassador for the Juvenile Diabetic Research Foundation. She also was a part of the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board which assists kids who have challenges. As a guest speaker and teacher she travels across the United States to discuss her love for cooking and profession. Through her culinary adventures, Anne often says that she feels so lucky to be able to share my true passion in life with others.
